Setting suitability?

Possible hazzards?

Pros of setting

Cons of setting

Weather cautions

Health risks

From taking a visit to the two locations that I am going to be filming at, I have discovered that there are a few cons and a few perks of the alley way setting. The alley way is located on beaufoy road and is placed behind a block of houses. The alley way is mainly quiet at times and is rated by me satisfactory in terms of it's suitability. The train station suitability is excellent and helps to set the scene very clearly. There are a few possible hazzards and health risks with the alley way location. For example because we are filming in a hidden alley way, the floor is dirty and wet with the weather, and seeing as I have to lay on the floor during the death scene, there is a possibility that I may catch a cold and become ill from the damp conditions. Despite the possible hazzards, there are a few pros of the setting. One of the pros is that it is in a reserved area. This means that when we are filming the alley way is going to be quiet and there is not going to be many people which means that there will be no distractions during our filming. Another pro is that it represents the genre of the film very well and gives the film a sibliminal "Urban" feel as the alley way is located in Tottenham. A con of the setting is that because it is outside, our actor, director, and camera person may be affected by the weather if it rains or if it is windy. The constant chage in weather is expected as English weather is never consistent and as we are in the winter season. In addition to that, due to the fact that the scene is outside where there is no roof or shelter, if it begins to rain the rain cold be a hazzard to myself as I have to run from the train station to the alley way and could fall due to the floor being slippery.

Justification.

Although the two settings that I am going to be filming at have several disadvantages, I believe that the pros outweigh the cons. A pro of the alley way setting is that myself and my group have familiarised ourselves with that specific setting and have gone to a few other alley way locations to make a comparision in order to decide which location is the most hygienic and suitable to film in. My group and myself came to the conclusion that the alley way on Beufoy road, which is the alley way that we came across last, was the best location to film at. This is due to the fact that the other alley ways we viewed were located on Tottenham High Road and were constantly busy with people walking up and down and had several street lights. In addition to this, we decided that the locations on Tottenham High road may be a distraction to us while we are fiilming as there may be people walking past during our prep and filming, and also as the street lights being on will ruin the genre of our film and the gloominess of the setting which sets the scene and the exposition. In conclusion, I have decided that the best alley way to film at is Beufoy Road as it looks more realisitc which will appeal to the audience, and as it is in a reserved and reclined area which means that we will be free from distractions while we are filming. Finaly, as a way of resolving the cons, I have decided to think of a way of getting something to put on the floor for me to lay on when filming the death scene and also as a way of preventing the chance of catching a coldif it rains, my group and I will be wearing hoods  and we will be wrapped up warm while we are preparing for the final scenes of the film.
