Font Analysis:

When choosing the font for my film title, I had to go onto dafont.com and compare various types of fonts, analyse each of them and then decide which one I am going to use and why and which ones that I am not going to use and explain why. The first font that I analysed and contemplated using was the 'Creepy Crawlers' font. I was enticed by this font as I believed that It represented the genre of my film very well as the writing is slightly slanted and looks mysterious. In the end, I decided that I was not going to use the font as my teacher and I agreed that it was more suitable for a film with a film with a horror genre and not a thriller/drama film. The second font that I came across was the 'Dream Walker' font. This font appealed to me as it looks simple and has a thriller genre feel when I look at it. However, I did not use this font as I believed that it didn't stand out as much and would not have a huge impact on the target audience. The third font that I came across was the 'Insomnia' font. This font stood out to me as the lines going across it made it have a thriller feel and represents the genre of the film. Also, this font stood out to me as it creates an 'urban' feel. Despite this, I decided to not use this font as it I believed that it looked too common of a thriller film and wanted something that had more of a meaning. The last font that I came across that I decided that I am going to use was the 'Top Secret' font. This font immediately stood out to me when I saw it as the font is written in what appears to be a shaky and italic font which to me associates with a thriller film. Also, I decided to use this font as the lines going over and under the text has a subliminal message of my film. This message is that as my film is about a young girl who is murdered in an alley way, the lines going over and under could be symbolic of the narrow alley way where the deadly scene takes place. I believe that this font is going to have the biggest impact on my target audience as it has an actual meaning and as it represents the thriller genre.
