Alterations & Developments made:
For my opening sequence, Desperate Measures several change had to take place in order to suit the needs of the opening sequence and to ensure that all requirements are met in order to have a successful opening sequence for a film.
One development made for my opening sequence is changing the time of the filming from late to early. Originally, the opening sequence was going to be filmed late in the evening when the sun has gone in and it is dark. This was the best idea at the time as it would have helped to create more of a suspense and more of an enigma as it would have looked more realistic and scarier which would also help the audience to recognise the genre easier. However, my group and I decided to change the filming to day when it is light outside. This is due to the fact that in the dark, the scenes did not show up on the camera very clearly as it was too dark. Filming in daylight made it much easier to get the correct shots and made the shots look more sharper and clearer. As my group and I wanted our opening sequence to be dark to create more of a frightening feel but we could not shoot in the dark, we decided to edit our film so that it can be viewed in black and white which we believed would also have an effect on the audience and would also represent the thriller genre. This alterataion has made our film look much better and more realistic.
Another alteration that was made for my opening sequence was the use of fake blood. As the opening sequence is a thriller/drama, my group and I had said that it has to contain a murder scene with the use of fake blood. First, my group and I went on the internet to find a recipe to make fake blood. We then went to tesco and purchased the ingredients and began to make the fake blood. In the first attempt to try out the fake blood after it was made, we had decided that it was too sticky to use and did not look very well. From this, we decided to not use that blood and instead decided to buy fake blood that was already made. After trying out how the fake blood looks, we decided to use that for our film instead as it looked more realistic and was easier to get off our hands than the other one that we had made.
